FAQs and contact information
What type of Co-operation does the Embassy provide?
The Embassy provides financial support for technical co-operation. For further information, please refer to General framework of the British Co-operation in Colombia.
What is the process for presenting projects to the Technical Co-operation Section of the Embassy?
1) Please make sure that your project contributes to the UK priorities for project assistance in Colombia, in the specified areas.
2) Once you have identified that your project contributes to one of our priority areas, please download the project bidding form and complete it in English, section A only. If you need further information please download the guidance file.
3) Present the project in accordance to the call for bids announced on this website, making sure to do so within the deadlines. Please send it via e-mail to cooperation@fco.gov.uk, in accordance with the instructions contained in the call for bids.
4) If requested by the Embassy, fill out Section B of the project bidding form.
5) Await response from the Embassy. Please note that the assessment process takes several weeks, and that all positive and negative results are communicated back to bidding organisations. We appreciate your patience in this matter.
What projects are normally selected by the Embassy?
Projects selected to support our work, are those with high sustainability in results, adequate exit strategies, and a high potential to encourage structural change in policies, the application of norms, or the development of jurisprudence. These are usually implemented by third parties, which include local public entities, international agencies, and national or international civil society organisations. No projects outside this scheme will be selected for support.
When and how often does the Embassy call for project bids to be presented?
Projects above £30,000 should be presented following the call for bids that is issued by the Embassy and published on our website. Projects of up to £10,000 can be sent according to our guidelines (described in this website) any time during the year.
