Cooperation in cultural issues

The British Council is the United Kingdom's leading international organisation for educational and cultural relations with other countries, including Colombia. Their prime objective is to enhance the reputation of the United Kingdom in Colombia as a valued partner.

They manage resources from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). In return they make sure that their objectives and targets support their policies. The British Council also works with other government departments like the Department for International Development (DFID) and agencies, and increasingly with the private sector.

If you are interested in the fields of film, performing arts, literature and British culture in general, the British Council can help you to exchange ideas with British people by developing cultural networks, organising events and providing you with information and resources about British culture.

In Colombia, the British Council also works to develop the Creative Industries sector through permanent bilateral dialogue and exchange of experiences with the sector. The creation and development of projects with both Colombian and UK partners in the sixteen sub-sectors is at the heart of our agenda.
