Foreign Office Minister Chris Bryant visited Colombia for the first time since taking office in June.

During his visit The Minister heard first-hand about the work Britain does on the ground to help Colombian law enforcement tackle the trade in drugs. He also got an update on progress in bringing to justice those responsible for human rights abuses as a consequence of the country’s long running insurgency.

The Minister called on: Alvaro Uribe, President of Colombia; Gabriel Silva, Minister of Defence and Jaime Bermudez, Minister of Foreign Affairs. He also met with members of the NGO Community and Trade Union leaders.

In the final days before the UN conference in Copenhagen, climate change was also high on the agenda.
